Last week I had the opportunity to document Nicole Russell speaking to high school students participating in a program called Usher’s New Look on the topic of service. Ever since I met Nicole, she has always been so giving and always providing service to others. After the event, we stopped at a Starbucks in the city to chat before going our separate ways…
One of my non-for profit organizations, Precious Dreams Foundation (PDF) teamed up with Facebook for their annual Global Causes Day. PDF hosted 4 simultaneous comfort drops throughout New York. Over 50 Facebook employees volunteered and help stuff bags, help homeless youth decorate and design their own pillowcases, and distributed comfort bags.
These comfort drops are always amazing. I had the opportunity to cover two events within the hour. Seeing the kids enjoyment was priceless. Being able to bring smiles and joy to these children brings and unexplainable joy and feelings.
The Precious Dreams Foundation holds #ComfortDrops all over Manhattan to provide gift bags of bed-time comfort itens to children in foster homes, foster care and poor communities. During the Comfort Drop, the foundation brings celebrity guest to also teach the youth the importance of learning self comfort in order to focus on their dreams. This drop, Miguel stopped by to share his story growing up in L.A. Here is a peak inside a Precious Dreams Comfort Drop.
