Jonathan Mannion- 20 Years of Reasonable Doubt

Jonathan Mannion celebrated a huge milestone, the 20th anniversary of his first album cover, which just happened to be Jay Z’s first album Reasonable Doubt. This huge start was celebrated with a huge gallery of exclusive color photo prints JM decided to share with the public. Until recently, only the Black & White film was ever seen. I had the opportunity to follow Mannion around and create a nice visual recap that has been featured on BET (Click here to read article) along with photos on many publications. Here are a few!

#GirlBoss Life: Karen Civil

“In a saturated market filled with insta-famous personalities, I find it refreshing when I come across genuine authenticity in a brand, person or project. No stranger to this brand, I fully committed to be inspired by a young media mogul. Just days away from her 31st birthday, Karen Civil was set to publish a four chapter handbook to help inspire fans to live their best life. Living by her own mantra, “Live Civil & Be You” is intended for readers to scribble along the inseam, jot notes and write personal aspirations. Karen’s gift to us on her birthday was to inspire, uplift and motivate…exactly what young entrepreneurs need. Along the two-day journey I witnessed a young woman determined, playful and despite what one would think, sophisticatedly unaffected by her fame. Karen Civil confirmed that honestly being true to yourself is the golden ticket to your ultimate success.”- Marjoriet Matute of The Real Urban Classy

I had the opportunity to follow Karen Civil on a two day press run of her new book along with my good friend Marjoriet. We were all over manhattan, making stops at Hot97, BET, Ink’d, Facebook, & many more. Karen is a machine. Read the full recap on our two days here!!

St John’s Haraya Fest featuring NAS

Every year, St. John’s has a dope line up for annual Haraya Festival towards the end of the school year. From Kanye, Kendrick Lamar, Remy Ma, Neyo, Ryan Leslie, 2 Chainz, to SJU’s (or the newer kids, STJ) very own, J. Cole. This year’s headliner, Queens bred, Nas. Luckily I got all access to the show.

Though I didn’t shoot much, I got some photographs I really love. My goal was to take advantage of the amazing stage lighting and shoot with available light. I wanted to create some very moody photos. I try my best to shoot what i want straight in camera so I do not have to edit or tamper with photos. My mindset was to shoot as if I had a film camera to make every shot count. Besides adding text to one photo, everything is raw. Let me know what you think!

The Draper Space: One Year Anniversary

My good friend Ronald Draper just had his One year anniversary of his Gallery/Art Space in the BX. It’s always great to see friends do amazing and impactful things in the community. Ron’s art and character can be seen all through New York, especially uptown in Harlem.

Of course I had to support his success, but I also wanted to help be apart of his event. Last minute (literally the night before), we decided to host a station somewhere in the room to showcase a recent documentary he was in. We got a few iPads and headphones provided by Sol Republic and set up in the middle of the room. His guest were able to sit down and relax with one of their drinks from the open bar, mini cheesecake cups and dig deeper into the artist.

Towards the end of the night, Ron had a raffle. I donated two pairs of headphones that Ron will customize for the winners in the near future. Cant wait to see what he does to them..

Precious Dreams Foundation x Facebook #GlobalCausesDay 2016

One of my non-for profit organizations, Precious Dreams Foundation (PDF) teamed up with Facebook for their annual Global Causes Day. PDF hosted 4 simultaneous comfort drops throughout New York. Over 50 Facebook employees volunteered and help stuff bags, help homeless youth decorate and design their own pillowcases, and distributed comfort bags.

These comfort drops are always amazing. I had the opportunity to cover two events within the hour. Seeing the kids enjoyment was priceless. Being able to bring smiles and joy to these children brings and unexplainable joy and feelings.

Paddle of the Sexes 2

Its that time of year again; celebrities, drinks, ping pong, & my ring light. Last year, I purchased a ring light and tested it out at the first annual Paddle of the Sexes produced by Hard2Guard. It was such a hit, they requested I bring it out again! Spin in Ny renovated their walls so the back drop was a lot nicer than last years. Like last year, much of the proceeds went to Precious Dreams Foundation.
